Natasha Mansfield-Osborne BA (Hons)

Natasha Mansfield-Osborne - contemporary dance technique

Natasha trained at the Laban Centre London, gaining a BA Honours degree in Dance Theatre. During her time at Laban she worked with Emily Burns and Mark Murphy on repertory. Her studies included daily contemporary and ballet technique classes with dancers from renowned dance companies such as the Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Rambert, Transition, Adventures in Motion Pictures and the Royal Ballet. She also studied choreography under such teachers as Rosemary Butcher and Amanda Gough.

After graduating from Laban in 2000, Natasha became involved with the Candoco dance company. Initially performing with their youth group Cando II in pieces by Charlotte Darbyshire, Kweisi Johnson and Doug Elkins, Natasha went on to teach the youth group and assist their residencies with other dance practitioners including Jamie Watton, STOMP and Adzido dance company.
She is now an associate of Candoco, teaching residencies alongside the main company members. Natasha performed with Candoco in The Dancers Project, a collaboration with Jasmin Vardimon and Greenwich Dance Agency.

Natasha teaches GCSE dance at Patcham High School, and elements of the AS and A level courses at Varndean College, Reigate College, and here at Brighton College. Alongside this teaching, she also runs after-school clubs, teaches workshops in schools all over Sussex, is a tutor on the children's university programme, and teaches adult contemporary technique classes here at Dancecenter.

Natasha continues to take on performance projects alongside her teaching work, which she feels expands her choreographic ideas and benefits her teaching tremendously.
